Industry Guides to Good Hygiene Practice
The aim of the food industries' guides is to support effective application of the food hygiene legislation. The Agency will assess any national guide developed in accordance with the guidelines and will recognise those that it considers are suitable and practicable guides to compliance with the legislation.
Food Champion Awards
The Agency awards Food Champion Awards to local authorities to acknowledge the important role they play in their local community and the good practice they have demonstrated. The awards recognise how local authorities have focused on improving food safety and community diet and nutrition in their area.

This guide is for those that operate in the United Kingdom, and refers to parallel legislation in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland where appropriate.
Local authority update seminars
During 2007 the Food Standards Agency, in partnership with LACORS, held local authority update seminars in Manchester and London. The updates provided Agency officials with the opportunity to speak directly to local authorities on the areas of policy for which they are responsible.
