Postgraduate scholarship scheme
The Agency launched a postgraduate scholarship scheme in 2004 to help provide researchers with skills relevant to the Agency’s future needs.
The last call for applications closed on 31 March 2009 and currently there are no plans to issue a further call as the Agency is reviewing its needs for skills support and the best way to deliver these.
Projects funded under the postgraduate scholarship scheme
From the scheme’s launch in 2004, the Agency offered up to three postgraduate scholarships each year at either Doctoral or research Masters level in defined areas of applied science, including the social sciences. Proposals were invited from academic and research institutions in the UK and had to be within the scope of Agency research programmes and relevant to the UK. The main criteria on which we assessed proposals were the quality of training provided, scientific quality and relevance to the Agency's policies. Preference was also given to proposals expected to lead to practical outcomes that would benefit consumers.
Details of the 23 projects funded under the scheme are available at the link below.
