Fortified cereals ban in Denmark
Wednesday 11 August 2004
Food Standards Agency response to the decision by the Danes to ban the sale of Kellogg's fortified cereals and snacks.
Statement
We are advising people to continue to eat breakfast cereal as part of a healthy balanced diet.
Our dietary surveys show that people's diets in the UK, which include fortified breakfast cereals and snacks, are well below the recommended maximum levels of vitamins and minerals.
We are seeking further information from the Danish authorities.
