Mislabelled Walkers Ready Salted French Fries
Friday 17 December 2004
People with allergies to milk, wheat and mustard are being warned not to eat certain packs of Walkers ready salted French Fries after it was discovered that they were inadvertently packed with cheese and onion flavoured snacks. The Agency has issued a Food Alert For Action.
It is possible that up to 11,000 wrongly labelled packets are in circulation, although the company has not been able to verify where the packets have been distributed.
It is most likely that this product will be found in small retail outlets, pubs and vending machines.
If you have bought one of the affected packets, contact the Walkers customer helpline on freephone 0800 274 777.

Food Alerts
Food Alerts are the FSA's way of letting local authorities and consumers know about problems associated with food and, in some cases, providing details of specific action to be taken.
They were previously known as Food Hazard Warnings and were issued under four categories (A, B, C and D).
Now they are issued under two categories:
- Food Alerts: For Action (replacing A, B and C)
- Food Alerts: For Information (replacing Category D)
