Pran pickles and Sudan I update

A Food Hazard Warning issued in November 2003 advised that 300g and 400g jars of Pran Naga Chilli Pickle Extra Hot were contaminated with illegal dye Sudan I. It has now come to light that all Pran brand pickles are contaminated.
The Agency has responded by issuing a Category C Food Hazard Warning.Food Standards Agency Scotland has issued a Category D Food Hazard Warning.
Pran pickles are imported from Bangladesh (where they are manufactured by the Agricultural Marketing Co Ltd) and distributed by Azka Impex 94 Soho Hill, Hockley, Birmingham B19 1AE, and Al Amin Cash & Carry Ltd 105-107 Hanbury Street London E1.
They have been on sale in small retail outlets selling ethnic foods in England and Wales.
The affected products are:-
- Pran Brand Mango Pickle
- Pran Brand Olive Pickle
- Pran Brand Mixed Pickle
- Pran Brand Satkara (Citrus Pickle)
- Pran Brand Lemon Pickle
- Pran Brand Garlic Pickle
