Organic chilled hummus recalled

Carley's of Cornwall has recalled its entire range of Organic Chilled Hummus products after it discovered that all had been given an excessive shelf life. The Agency has issued a Food Alert for Information.

- Organic Chilled Hummus
- Organic Chilled Avocado Hummus
- Organic Chilled Hummus with Red Peppers
- Organic Chilled Hummus with Kalamata Olives
- Organic Chilled Hummus with Roasted Spices
All five products come in 250g jars and all date codes are affected.
The product recall notice will appear in national newspapers on 15 February 2005 and at point-of-sale notices at wholesale/distribution and retail outlets.

Food Alerts
Food alerts are the FSA's way of letting local authorities and consumers know about problems associated with food and, in some cases, providing details of specific action to be taken.
They are issued under two categories:
- Food Alerts: For Action (replacing A, B and C)
- Food Alerts: For Information (replacing Category D)
