Cutting plants licensed for OTM cattle

On 7 November 2005, BSE testing of older cattle replaced the OTM Rule, a BSE control introduced in August 1996 that operated a blanket ban on cattle aged over thirty months entering the food chain.
A number of red meat cutting plants have now been licensed to remove specified risk material bovine vertebral column from Over Thirty Months (OTM) animals, following the introduction of BSE testing for cattle aged over thirty months.
A list of these licensed cutting plants can be found at the bottom link below. This list will be updated weekly to include newly licensed plants.
