ACMSF annual report published

The 2004 Annual Report of the Advisory Committee on the Microbiological Safety of Food (ACMSF) has been published.
The Committee, which was established in 1990, provides the Food Standards Agency with independent, expert advice on the microbiological safety of food.
A foreword to the report is provided by the Committee's Chair, Professor Bill Reilly, who is Head of Gastrointestinal and Zoonoses Section at Health Protection Scotland.
Included in the report is a review of the Committee's work during the course of 2004. Topics covered include campylobacter, Clostridium botulinum, egg research and advice, and undiagnosed encephalitis in ruminants.
The report also covers the Committee's programme of future work.
