The Authority’s Strengths
Food Service Plan – A Service Plan has been produced which meets the requirement of the standard.
Food Premises Database – A check on the accuracy of the database showed that 12 out of 12 businesses randomly selected had been entered on to the database.
Food Sampling – The Authority have produced a sampling programme. Examination of the sampling files indicates that Officers have followed the appropriate policy and procedures.
Control and Investigation of Outbreaks and Food Related Infectious Diseases – The Authority has set up and implemented a documented procedure. Investigation of the most recent outbreak has been carried out in accordance with this procedure.
Documented Policies and Procedures – A procedure is in place for controlling documents within the Authority.
Follow-Up Action to Year 1 Non-Conformances – These have been completed.
Key Areas for Improvement
Food Standards Inspections – From the files checked it is evident that Food Standards Inspections had not been carried out in accordance with the Food Safety Act 1990 Code of Practice No 8: Food Standards Inspections.
