Cow from same herd as BSE infected animal has entered food chain
The Agency has been informed that meat from a cow that was in the same herd as an animal with BSE, and which in its first year may have eaten the same food, has entered the food chain.

The Agency has been notified that an Over Thirty Month old (OTM) heifer has entered the human food chain without being tested for BSE. Testing of bovine animals is mandatory in those intended for human consumption that are over thirty months at slaughter.
