'Go bananas' is a collection of nutrition and food safety games for 3–12 year olds. The games incorporate key FSA messages about diet and nutrition, and food safety. The aims and objectives have been designed to support the learning outcomes of the curriculum and the FSA food competences.
Food Standards Agency Northern Ireland is holding a school poster competition for the chance to win one of four ‘Big Bananas’. Designed to grab the attention of children, the Big Banana’s skin peels off to reveal a variety of games such as ‘Food Busters’, a board game to increase awareness of food safety, and ‘Starchy Snap’, a game that identifies a wide range of starchy foods.
If you’d like the chance to win a ‘Big Banana’ for your school, simply organise a poster competition based on healthy eating and safer food and submit the top three posters, along with the age of each entrant and school contact details, to:
